Mandingo Language Manual: As a Peace Corps volunteer in Sierra Leone, I lived in a village where people spoke Mandingo, a.k.a. Maninka, Mandinka, Malinke, etc. The dialect spoken there was most similar to the dialect spoken in Guinea, although it seemed to be quite influenced by Krio.
This manual discusses grammar, vocabulary and cultural elements of the language, maninka kang. The approach is dialogue-based, with each chapter centered on a particular situation and the sort of conversation that might happen. Chapters include greetings, introductions, talking about family, farming, buying and selling, food, traveling, sickness and health, gift giving and Islam.

Tuscany Painting Trip: August 2019. In August I had the opportunity to travel to the Tuscany region in Italy to take part in a watercolor painting workshop. I published some of my paintings and a short article about the painting trip I took to Tuscany, Italy in the Jan-March 2020 issue of Skipping Stones Magazine.
